Andrew - predictions evening celebrated the night of 29 to 30 November, on the eve of Saint Andrew, patron saint of Scotland, Greece and Russia. The first Polish literary mention of it appeared in 1557 thanks to Marcin Bielski. The day falls at the end or the beginning of the liturgical year. Andrew is a special opportunity to organize the last play before the grand beginning Advent.
Once the omens were purely Andrew's bedroom, and were intended for unmarried girls (male counterpart were Catherine Andrews). Andrew initially treated very seriously, and the omens were held only individually, in isolation, in later times took the form of collective, organized in a peer group to release girls, but today turned into a non-binding fun that brings together young people of both sexes.
