Wawel is a royal castle built in 1504 in Kraków. It's situated on Wawel hill on the left bank of the Vistula River. It's one of the most known polish places. On the hill there is also the Cathedral Basilica of Sts. Stanisław and Vaclav.Wawel is one of the most often visited polish antiques by foreigners. There are many beautiful views from the hill. During the World War II it was the seat of the Governor General Hans Frank. In 1978 it was added to UNESCO World Heritage Site.
